Our Omega Plus King Salmon Oil is a good source of marine-based omega-3 to support your horse’s skin, coat, and overall wellbeing. Rich in the long-chain fatty acids EPA and DHA, which are naturally occurring in marine-sourced oils, it provides these essential nutrients in a form that is readily absorbed and utilised.

Transition Plan

Omega Plus King Salmon Oil supports your horse’s overall wellbeing by delivering valuable marine-based omega-3s that complement their daily feed. Our step-by-step transition plan makes it easy to introduce, ensuring your horse continues to enjoy mealtimes while adapting to the new taste.
Step: 1: The Teaser

Amount: 5 ml per feed

Method:

  1. Mix oil thoroughly with a portion of the horse’s usual feed.
  2. Optional: Add a tiny bit of something tasty like apple or carrot shavings to mask the new flavour.
Tip:
Head tossing or hesitation is normal. Lead them to the feed but let them decide to taste it.
Step 2: The Sneaky Blend

Amount: 10 ml per feed

Method:

  1. Gradually increase the oil and mix into a slightly larger portion of feed.
  2. Continue adding a small treat or natural flavour enhancer if needed.
Tip:
Give the horse a little “sniff and taste” session before the feed to spark curiosity.
Step 3: The Confidence Boost

Amount: 20–30 ml (or target daily dose up to 60ml)

Method:

  1. Mix oil into the full feed.
  2. Offer a favourite treat right after feeding to reinforce positive associations.
Tip:
Some horses settle once they realize the taste isn’t unpleasant. Remember, you can lead a horse to oil, but you can’t make it eat!
Name the oil:
Make it part of a routine, e.g., “Omega Time!”

Stir and pour theatrics:
Horses are naturally curious, mixing the feed in a “special way” can make them more willing to eat.

Feed buddies:
If feeding multiple horses, have one confident horse eat it first; others often follow.

Testimonials

  • "As an animal osteopath, I see firsthand how diet and nutrition directly influence a horse’s musculoskeletal health, mobility, and overall performance. I recommend Omega Plus Equine Oil because it provides high-quality marine sourced DHA and EPA, which play a vital role in reducing inflammation, supporting joint health, and aiding recovery after work. These results are often noticed as quick as two weeks of intake.

I’ve found horses supplemented with Omega Plus Equine Oil often show improvements in behaviour, coat condition, skin health, and general vitality, which are outward signs of better internal balance. For performance and sport horses, this added nutritional support can make a noticeable difference in maintaining flexibility, comfort, and concentration during training and competition.

For me, Omega Plus Equine Oil is a natural complement to osteopathic care, supporting both physical wellbeing and decreased internal inflammatory responses, leading to a more comfortable horse with better more successful outcomes."

  • "Since introducing Omega Plus Salmon Oil at our bloodstock operation, the results have been incredible. Foals are growing strong with healthier coats, yearlings show excellent muscle definition, steady weight gain, and minimal risk of developmental orthopaedic issues — confirmed by x-rays supervised by our vet and equine nutritionist. Mares are maintaining condition and weight with ease. Omega Plus is now a staple in our programme, adding real value to our horses and giving us confidence in their long-term soundness."
